The Vision of Kaohsiung Museum
The “The Vision of Kaohsiung Museum”, was the previous site of the former Kaohsiung Railway Station. The structure was Built in Imperial Crown style during Japanese Colonial rule. Operations began in 1941. It strongly reflects the era of Japanese military rule. It also features a Western foyer and a main hall, creating a fusion of Japanese and Western architecture. Japan’s southward expansion was designed to better Kaohsiung’s industrial development.
Chaishan Village
If you follow the mountain trail behind the Sun Yat-Sen University campus and go along the beachside road for about 20 minutes, you will find a collection of huts built along the hillside. This is the old Chaishan Tribal village. This used to be a restricted military area, so outsiders rarely got a glimpse this historical site. A decade ago, some of the restrictions were lifted. This beautiful hillside and seacoast has now become an ecological park. Most of the residents who made a living as fishermen or hunters have now gone to work in the city. The overgrown path has now been trimmed into a trail along which tourists can journey in search of hidden scenic locations. Cafes as well as restaurants selling seafood and mountain delicacies have also sprung up. Although some building restrictions still apply, owners do their best to give a resort feel to their structures.
The Neiweipi Cultural Park
The Neiweipi Cultural Park is situated on 41 hectares of land in northern Kaohsiung. It includes the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, Sculpture Park, Artificial Lake, an outdoor music venue, The Firefly Conservation Area and the Marsh Wetlands Area.

International art exhibitions are often held here, along with art by local artists and a variety of creative forums.
Former British Consulate at Dagou
Baroque style architecture, red bricks, flower fences, stone carvings and round arches reveal an exotic appearance. You can view Kaohsiung from here, day and night. Now it is a national Class Two ancient monument managed by the Kingship Hotel in Kaohsiung. It is laid out with a Port-view Hall, Sea-view Hall, Kaohsiung Hall, as well as Cultural Creation Shops, Exhibition Rooms A and B, and the Prison Maze.
Pier-2 Art Center
This is a unique conversation space combining art and the harbor. There are regular activities and exhibitions, and much creative work going on. Come here to enjoy modern art. In accord with the history of Kaohsiung’s development, you’ll find the different arts practiced here.
Fishermen's Wharf
Fishermen's Wharf was created out of vacant warehouses at the end of Cisian Road. Fishermen's Wharf now offers romantic cafes, snack vendors, and a pub. After dark, fantastic light shows are held, so visitors can enjoy a distinct waterside experience. It is an extremely popular tourist attraction.
