Hakkanese Historical Museum
Located within another park on Tongmeng Road in the Sanmin District. The Hakkanese Historical Museum sits on 2645m2 of land and is the largest Hakkanese museum in Taiwan. Its design is based on traditional Hakkanese buildings from China, and is a three-Sided compound built with red brick and enamel. Inside the museum, there are traditional Hakkan cultural artifacts as well as guides, films, and replicas. Hakkanese cultural events are held regularly to demonstrate Hakkanese traditions. This is also the site of Taiwan's first Hakkanese library. This cultural center is Definitely multi-functional.
Tower of Light
The "Tower of Light" was originally located in Sanmin's No.1 Park, across the road from The Hakkanese Historical Museum. It was once used as a Taipower high voltage power tower. With the construction of an underground cable project, it was on the brink of being scrapped. The Kaohsiung City Government actively persuaded Taipower to retain one for commemorative purposes. After successfully lobbying for a budget of NT$40 million, ecological concepts were incorporated into the design to use solar power to illuminate the "Tower of Light". It is now another great landmark in Kaohsiung's skyline at night.
Former Tangrong Brick Kiln
The Former Tangrong Brick Kiln is located beside the Love River on Tongmeng Road beside the Chungtu Bridge. These were the first brick kilns in Takou. The City Government has now listed the brick kiln as a site of historical interest, and in 2005 the site was refurbished into a leisure area for citizens.
Kaohsiung Museum of History
This is the first museum to be set up by a local government. It focuses on the history and development of southern Taiwan and its people. The museum has four permanent exhibition rooms and plus one exhibition room in which displays are changed every 6 months. These exhibits offer a view of Kaohsiung's past and how the past is now playing an important role in the city's future progress.
Central Park
Central Park i s the green “ lung” of Kaohsiung. It links Jhongshan 1st Rd., Wufu 3rd Rd., Jhonghua 3rd Rd. and Minsheng 2nd Rd. Urban Spotlight is its next door neighbor. It’s a good place for urban relaxation.
